Adoption Ceremonies

Share

An adoption ceremony can be held for a child of any age (or any adult for that matter) who is being adopted into a new family. The ceremony may involve only the adopting family, or it may include the reliquishing parents also.

Ishara will work with you to create a ceremony that can ease the transition and mark this special new beginning.

Pricing & Enquiries

The cost for a custom-designed ceremony of this kind is generally between $300 and $400 which would include a ceremony design consultation (approx 1 hour), the preparation of a customised ceremony outline & script, a visit to your home or chosen ceremony site to confirm logistical arrangements and finalise the ceremony outline, and professional facilitation of your ceremony at the time and place of your choice.

Naturally you want to know that the celebrant you are engaging is a good fit with your values and personal style. The best way to figure out whether I am the right celebrant for you is to speak with me!

That's why I encourage you to give me a phone call. OR you can use the enquiry form below, and I will call you at a time that suits you..

I recognise that choosing a celebrant is an important decision, so if you prefer to meet face to face I'm happy to make an appointment to for a cuppa (in the Fremantle area) so you can check me out and talk to me about your situation.

Adoption Rituals on Beliefnet.com
Thinking about a ceremony to mark the adoption of a new child into the family? At last count this website offered 23 articles each with a distinctly different suggestion for ceremonies, small rituals and symbolic actions involving the adopted child, the adopting parents and/or the relinquishing parents. Both the joyful and challenging aspects of adoption are addressed. Well worth a look. (http://www.beliefnet.com/Search/Site.aspx?q=adoption+ritual)
